Should You Go On A Canal Tour In Bruges?

Once you arrive in Brugge, besides the beautiful medieval buildings, you will notice the famous canals. While walking through the city can be fun, taking a canal tour is a totally different experience. You will get to see buildings you can only see from the water, see the back parts from buildings (which are equally beautiful as the front part), besides you will have a guide, who knows everything about Brugge, and you will learn more about its history.

If you’re not a walking person, or you don’t feel like walking too much that day (or have the flu and feel terrible like I did), I definitely recommend this tour. If you do like to walk around a city, I still recommend this tour, it can be a very good opportunity to rest your feet from the cobbled streets and/or take advantage of the sun when it’s shining.

The canal tour takes about 30 minutes; they run all days of the week from March to October, from 10 to 5 pm and the cost is 8 euros per person. The guides speak throughout the tour in French, English, Dutch and German. There are different places in the city where you can start your tour. If you want more information about the tours, visit Boottochten Brugge.
